A complex and dirty game is dominated by political donations, hence my determination not to add to the fold. Representing my constituents is my top priority. Politicians currently will only act on behalf of voters if no wealthy or powerful lobby/donating group objects - or if the party in question is boxed into a corner by a hung parliament or strong community action.
Chat To StuWhile a very difficult thing to do in self-funding any political campaign, I do so with a clear conscience and heart to know that I cannot be influenced by or be responsible for any donation monies, even though it maybe eventually to my campaigns detriment.
There are costs and risks to a program of action, but they are far less than the long range risks and costs of comfortable inaction.
Hopefully my fellow Australians/electors will see the merit in my personal stance against dark money and its dire effects on our democracy and governing institutions and reward such on polling day.
